Small parts come together to make one picture, small parts of information come together to give you data, one life is comprised of a string of measurable small moments. ‘JigaBytes’ (2012) brings the thease ideas together to create a tangible visualisation of these moments and how they can come together to create a whole. In the same way millions of pixels come together to form one image, jigsaw puzzle pieces come together to form a whole. This work intends to visualise these moments, or pixels, to highlight the similarities between human life and the data transmission. There are 1024 pieces in a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle similarly 1024 megabytes make a gigabyte. Human life is made of moments, data, bytes, and bits it is modulated and all about data transfer and even storage.
