The Poetics of Process
The ‘Poetics of Process’ is an exploration into the de-evolution of process, both technically and conceptually. The work was created through investigating ceramic processes of today and their historical beginnings. An understanding of slip casting and ceramic material, allowed for a manipulation of their properties to establish a unique ceramic process. These pieces reflect what evolved through this process. Natural processes were also exploited, as surface area was created through water erosion. Poetics of Process is the integration of concept, process and aesthetics, as each of these elements was informed by the others, through experimentation of cause and effect.
