I am interested in the Facebook phenomenon; how millions of people worldwide interact through online social platforms. These social carriers enable personal images and experiences to be thrust into public, then circulated through online social forums. Topics once considered taboo are now shared and discussed openly online as people willingly trade in their privacy to be in the public eye. My work examines the impulse of “over sharing” on social networking sites and the narcissistic behaviour that manifests through these modes of communication.
