Swirl the Life
Made by folding a single sheet of metal, the design of this table and chair was inspired by the swirling patterns of an ice-cream cone. The various shapes created by the folding surfaces were designed to represent people from different cultural backgrounds. Moreover, the linking patterns serves to highlight the possibility of interaction between people and as a means to celebrate diversity. From a practical sense, this piece was created to form an intimate space where people can gather together, engage in conversation and share. For aesthetic appeal, Soufflé and Water Flow colours have been chosen. The colours were preferred over more traditional darker colours to soften and neutralise the sharpness of the table and chair. By combining surfaces of varying shapes and sizes, this piece was designed to create a harmonious table and chair, one which people are able to bond and share memorable moments through bonding and conversation.
