Detail: Dirt, linen, pen, red and green dye Stranger explores the scary thought of not understanding the language of another country and experiencing China as an Australian with an English understanding of the rules of pronunciation. The work visualises the distorted nature of a foreign language, expressed through the eyes of a tourist trying to understand and document her emotional and physical experiences.
