'Present on Our Table'
An exploration of our transitory roles and relationships within everyday, the family of baskets exhibit a bond through material and process. Reminiscent of an individual community reflecting characteristics of one another, the vessel becomes a material semiotic of such connections and bonds. A combination of eco dying, layering, crochet and basketry techniques the series are both functional within a domestic context as well as sculptural within a gallery space, bridging between the historical role of the craft and my contemporary artistic language.
