My work deals with the concepts of displacement, travel and the classic memento. I explore the nature of tradition and create numerous unnatural settings, where through different cultural experiences one learns about themselves and their surroundings. My current work as well as projects I’ve completed in the past focus on smaller details within a particular environment. My work is always personal, reflecting on past experiences and memories making each work sentimental. Quite boldly my current work directly references the classic memento, the snow globe, however, I have taken on a more lighthearted, playful approach to image making.
