Woven Connections
Woven Connections is the result of a collaboration between myself and Indigenous basket weavers, examining the role of craft and its creation process in forming connections between people, communities and cultures. Through the collaboration process I connected to Indigenous artists, combining our different craft making practices: jewellery design and basket weaving. Each piece is made from a combination of aluminum and woven grasses, the design allows for individual artistic interpretation and each becomes a part of the storytelling process; the pieces are designed to create conversation, allowing their story to be passed on. Each piece is unique.
