Subversive Botanics
The project is be based on the exploration of fruit and it’s flesh, both internal and external. This concept has directed the project’s visual research into examining contrasts in texture and colour between external and internal flesh. Inspired by the block prints and bold Oriental textiles characterised within the Art Deco movement, this project seeks to subvert the notion of Art Deco botanics by investigating the everyday not the exotic.
