Modern Day Frida, Inkjet Print, 2012
'The Modern Day Frida’ is an appropriation of Frida Kahlo’s painting entitled Frida Kahlo, Self-portrait dedicated to Dr Eloesser, 1940. This imitation represents the changing nature of social identity struggles. The modern day Frida is no longer a feminist but rather a gay male striving for similar rights which were fought for during the Feminist movement.
